1st Call for the 2017 Social Entrepreneurship Grant – Deadline: 30 June 2017

The Arquia Foundation, in collaboration with Barcelona Activa, will award 1 Social Entrepreneurship Grant for the development of a sustainable business project with a social component, with the aim of promoting and supporting the creation of business initiatives that attempt to achieve a positive impact on society by resolving problems that currently affect the population, from a social or environmental perspective.

The grant aims to:

• Promote the culture of entrepreneurship and business initiative as a driver of economic growth by supporting innovative proposals in the area of Social Entrepreneurship.
• Provide candidates with knowledge and tools to complement their entrepreneurial skills and enable them to make their business projects a reality.
• Give impetus to new entrepreneurial projects based on values ​​such as effort, drive and innovation.

Those eligible to apply for the grant are graduates with a degree in Social Sciences, Legal Sciences, Arts, Humanities, Sciences, Health Sciences, Economics, Business, Engineering and Architecture from a Spanish university or from an international university but whose degree has been officially approved in Spain, who have a Spanish residency permit, or multidisciplinary teams, composed mainly of professionals with a viable, creative and innovative business idea.

The grant includes the following benefits:

• a place on the six-month Social Entrepreneurship Programme at Barcelona Activa, a prestigious institution in the area of entrepreneurship and innovation,
• a grant of 7000 euros to cover travel costs for attending programme sessions,
• a personal adviser who will tutor the project throughout the course of the programme.

Projects that, through innovative solutions, aim to overcome social challenges arising from an aging population, from meeting the basic needs of the global population or that promote sustainability and respect for the environment, will be rated positively.
