Mientras el espacio real y sus representaciones nos resultan cada vez más ficticias, el tiempo se multiplica, afirmándose como la dimensión protagonista de nuestra era. La presente tesis propone un viaje a través de la cuestión del tiempo y su creciente importancia en las estrategias arquitectónicas desarrolladas en el último cuarto del siglo XX, a partir de tres figuras íntimamente relacionadas: Peter Eisenman (Newark, NJ, USA, 1932), Bernard Tschumi (Lausana, Suiza, 1944) y Greg Lynn (North Olmsted, OH, USA, 1964). Tres generaciones de arquitectos que coincidirán en el centro de debate y producción internacional de la ciudad de Nueva York. Se estudian tres proyectos teóricos, tres proyectos de arquitectura y sus relaciones y encuentros, durante las dos décadas en las que se gestan: el Cannaregio de Eisenman en Venecia (1978), el Parque de La Villette de Tschumi en París (1982) y el Port Authority Gateway  de Greg Lynn en Nueva York (1995).

While real space and its representations are increasingly fictitious, time is being multiplied and becoming the leading dimension of our era. This thesis dissertation proposes a journey through the subject of time and its increasing importance in the architectural strategies developed in the last quarter of the twentieth century. It is based on the work of three closely related architects: Peter Eisenman, Bernard Tschumi and Greg Lynn. Three different generations of architects that will coincide in the international center of debate and production of the City of New York. The thesis analyzes three theoretical bodies of work, three architectural projects, and the relationships and encounters amongst them during the two decades in which the work was developed. The projects are Eisenman’s Cannaregio in Venice (1978), Tschumi’s Parc de la Villette in Paris (1982) and Greg Lynn’s Port Authority Gateway in New York (1995).
