The results of the Fifth Survey of Architects and the Seventh Survey of Students of Architecture were gathered from the answers given by the participants in the professional modules and students of Architecture to the questionnaire of the 2017 Arquia Survey, carried out from March to July 2017.
When the call closed on 20 July, a total of 444 students and 1,612 participating architects had completed the questionnaire. The questionnaires have been subjected to a review and validation process, and those who meet the requirements set out in the terms and conditions may participate.
The study was directed and prepared by sociologist Emilio Luque, professor at the UNED's Faculty of Political Science and Sociology.
The form was available online from March to July 2017.
All Arquia users, students enrolled in any Spanish school of architecture (students from foreign universities who are temporarily studying in any Spanish school of architecture through the ERASMUS programme or similar could not participate), and graduates as senior architects from any of the Spanish technical schools of architecture, foreign architects who hold a degree obtained in Spain and architects who hold a degree obtained outside Spain and validated in Spain, were able to participate.

Among the participants who completed and sent in the survey, a draw was made in July 2017, before a notary, for a trip for two people to the UIA Congress in Seoul which was held from 2 to 11 September 2017, and ten sets of two books and two documentaries published by Arquia Foundation. Employees and members of the governing bodies of Grupo Arquia as well as their immediate relatives were excluded from participating in the draw.
The draw took place before a notary public on 24 July 2017.
