Arquitectura y Cuadernos de Arquitectura en la década de los sesenta son un reflejo de la realidad profesional de esta etapa de nuestra historia. Las dos revistas, representan la dualidad de los dos polos culturales y arquitectónicos de España, Madrid y Barcelona: dos colegios profesionales, dos Escuelas de Arquitectura y dos colectivos de arquitectos, con tradiciones históricas diferentes y mediatizados por circunstancias políticas, económicas y sociales diversas.

El volumen de sus publicaciones frente a otras análogas dentro del ámbito nacional, las convierte en la base documental más importante para la revisión del panorama de nuestra arquitectura en esta década. Su difusión estaba garantizada en ambos casos por tratarse de publicaciones de los respectivos colegios profesionales; Arquitectura es el órgano del Colegio de Arquitectos de Madrid, y Cuadernos de Arquitectura es la revista del Colegio de Arquitectos de Cataluña y Baleares. Esta característica, las sitúa en un mismo plano de comparación por su influencia entre los profesionales, y les confiere un inevitable carácter ecléctico, diferenciándolas así de otras revistas contemporáneas.

Las revistas son diferentes en la línea editorial, en el ámbito de difusión y en la periodicidad de sus publicaciones. Como revistas de arquitectura, su punto de encuentro debería estar en los contenidos, sin embargo, como reflejo del colectivo al cual representan, también nos aportan visiones y temáticas diferentes. Por ello, no son realidades comparables, sino complementarias. El estudio conjunto de las dos revistas, nos presenta un panorama más amplio de la arquitectura española de los sesenta, integrando la singularidad de sus visiones parciales y la complementariedad de sus temáticas. Con los datos objetivos del estudio bibliométrico, se han ido verificando y matizando las hipótesis y ponderando las aportaciones de cada revista a la reconstrucción de la realidad poliédrica de la historia de nuestra arquitectura en los años sesenta.

The magazines Arquitectura y Cuadernos de Arquitectura are a reflection of the professional architecture reality in the sixties. The two magazines, represent the duality of the two poles cultural and architectural in Spain; Madrid and Barcelona. Two professional schools, two schools of architecture and two architects groups with different historical traditions and with different political, economic and social  circumstances.

The volume of their publications comparing with others, inside the national level, becomes the most important documentary base for revising the outlook of our architecture in this decade. Its spread was guaranteed in both cases as publications of the respective professional associations. Arquitectura is the magazine of the of the Architects College of Madrid, and Cuadernos de Arquitectura is the magazine of the Architects College of Catalonia and the Balearics. This characteristic, puts them on the same level of comparison for his influence among the professionals, and gives them an inevitable eclectic character, differentiating them of other contemporary architectural magazines.

The magazines are different in their editorial line, in the field of their dissemination and the frequency of their publications. As architectural magazines, their meeting point should be on the contents, however, reflecting the collective to which also represent visions and themes give us different. Therefore, there are complementary. The joint study of the two magazines, presents a broader picture of the Spanish architecture of the sixties, integrating the uniqueness of their partial visions and complementarity of their themed. The contributions of each magazine to the reality reconstruction of the history of our architecture in the sixties have been verifying with the bibliometric data.
