Mi experiencia de seis meses en Foster + Partners ha sido una de las etapas más enriquecedoras y formativas de mi trayectoria académica y profesional. Desde el primer momento, Londres me sorprendió y me cautivó. Su energía, su dinamismo y la riqueza arquitectónica que se percibe en cada esquina hicieron que me sintiera inmediatamente inspirado y motivado. Londres es un lugar donde la arquitectura se vive en cada detalle, desde los edificios históricos hasta los proyectos más contemporáneos, y poder formar parte de uno de los estudios más reconocidos a nivel internacional en este entorno fue una oportunidad única gracias a la Fundación Arquia.

Why demolish? When the structure can be preserved almost in its entirety, and an addition of green urban public space can be made, thus improving urban accessibility and the quality of life and health of its inhabitants. Thus, by extending the usable surfaces and crowning the project with a rooftop that is a landmark of sustainability, it is possible to make an impact on a local, municipal, regional scale... In a world where tons of construction debris are produced every day, "Breaking the Mould" proposes the rehabilitation of the Alfredo Mahou Tower, located in the financial centre of Madrid, Spain.
