The Arquia Foundation has announced the 10th edition of the arquia/thesis tender to select unpublished doctoral theses for subsequent publication in the arquia/thesis collection edited by the Arquia Foundation.
Spanish architects who were awarded their doctorates by any school or faculty of architecture in the world can apply, as well as international architects who gained their doctorate from any Spanish school of architecture.
Opening of call: April 2015
Registration period: from April to 16 June 2015 at 12 p.m.
Results: December 2015
Once the registration has been completed, the candidate must access the private user area by entering their email and password and attach the requested files:
The candidate must complete at least the mandatory fields: Title of the thesis, abstract in Spanish (max. 5000 characters), abstract in English (max. 5000 characters), thesis topic, supervisor of the thesis, year of completion, viva panel, institution of study.
The information can be edited until the day that the registration period closes.
In a second phase of the tender, the selected participants will be requested to submit the original thesis in Spanish for evaluation by the jury.
Registration in the arquia/thesis tender can only be done via the online registration system by completing the form provided for this purpose.

The jury will be composed of:
Manuel Gausa Navarro, Barcelona, 1959, he graduated as an architect in 1983 (ETSAB-UPC) and gained his PhD in architecture in 2005 (cum laude, ETSAB-UPC).
He is currently professor of landscape architecture / architectural projects and director-coordinator.
Born on 7 October 1939 in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, architect and painter, professor of architectural projects at the School of Architecture.
He led a comprehensive project workshop from 1st year to end of degree for the ETSA of Las Palmas.
This module was devoted specifically to reflections on the city, the improvement and development of coastal stretches, small inhabited areas and rural landscape rehabilitation.

He graduated as an architect in 1993 (number 1 in his year) from the ETSA of Seville, and gained his PhD in 2000, he has worked as a professor in the department of architectural projects at the ETSA of Seville since 2004, being director of this department from 2007 to 2010. Author of the book "La construcción de la mirada: tres distancias" (construction of the gaze: three distances), and of research articles published in national and international media, he has carried out more than 9 months of research stays at international universities (University of Valparaiso, Technical University Federico Santa Maria in Chile, University of Mayor San Simon in Cochabamba, Bolivia, and the TU in Berlin). He was born in 1957 in Las Palmas, where he completed his architectural studies in 1981.
In the early years of his career, he taught at the Las Palmas School of Architecture. He has been linked to tasks related to the profession from the National Fellowship of Architects, the College of Architects of the Canary Islands, where he has held various positions, and he has also worked as an architect over the years until today.
He is also a director of the Caja de Arquitectos and a trustee of the Arquia Foundation.
