V arquia / next Forum 2016: IMPERFECT FUTURE

On 20th October 2016, within the framework of the V arquia/next Málaga Forum 2016: IMPERFECT FUTURE, the arquia/next 2016 award was granted to PERSIANA BARCELONA for (in the words of Alberto Veiga, curator of this V edition) assuming the need to make an improvement in a product that over the years has become part of the collective imagination. In this detailed work, the project implements its characteristics not only on a small scale but also taking into consideration how the element will be able to characterize bigger scale spaces, or how it will enter in tune with the city. The way in which such a simple element is capable of characterizing and configuring a space gives an idea of why the attitude towards small things and, in this case, that of its authors towards the commission, is sometimes transcendental.

In addition, the First Award Arquia/Innovation was awarded to the PAISAJE TRANSVERSAL BLOG for taking up the challenge of disseminating in the purest sense of the word. A challenge based fundamentally on the concern to make available to the public new ways of approaching work on the city, the environment and the landscape, even if this means doing it against the tide. It is this desire for critical capacity, analysis transversality and conceptual framework that makes it work as a thinking tool.

The Communication Award was granted by the jury to the best explained, expressed and developed work, REC COMTAL by Carles Enrich.


In this V edition, a total of 1653 participating projects have been registered.
