2012 Contest Topic

Topic: 'Penitence'

At a delicate time for the social image of our profession, reflecting on how it has become an essential part of the great real estate plundering can be a good warning for those who aspire to join it. We know of the potential that architecture has to improve the world and to create several ways of living in it, and we also know of its opposite potential to destroy ways of living and landscapes when it is in the wrong hands. Knowing already the characters involved in the collapse of our economy and the social 'Big Fraud', we will imagine a contradictory architecture capable of activating the best of the landscape and that serves at the same time as a penance for its users. Stunned by the impunity shown by the justice system in our country, those involved will be sent to a place of more advanced justice and extreme climate to reflect on their excesses.
