Social entrepreneurship is a movement aimed at generating a positive impact and improving the world, proposing innovative solutions for society's most critical issues. They are business initiatives that, despite not having such a high level of recognition as projects in other areas do, contribute to actions that promote environmental sustainability, facilitate labour market and social inclusion, offer opportunities to dependent people and help to reduce inequalities, transforming society in a positive way.
The Arquia Foundation, in collaboration with Barcelona Activa, offers one Social Entrepreneurship Grant aimed at developing a sustainable business project with a strong social component, in order to encourage and support the creation of business initiatives that aim to achieve a positive impact in society by solving current population problems, from a social or environmental aspect.
The grant gives professionals the chance to adapt to the future thanks to training and the opportunity to explore new ways of working and starting a business, within the framework of a prestigious institution in the field of promoting entrepreneurship and innovation, Barcelona Activa, where they can benefit from the interdisciplinary and collaborative environment.
As complementary advantages of the Social Entrepreneurship Programme, the Arquia Foundation offers an individual adviser for project tutoring and a grant of 7,000 euros, which allows the grant recipients to attend sessions at Barcelona Activa.
The programme is structured in annual calls in which successive jury teams select innovative and viable projects, with a potential impact in the social and/or environmental field.
The call is launched during the first two quarters of the year; during this period, the award-winning grant will be selected. The Barcelona Activa grant lasts for six months, coinciding with the incubation and project development period.
