III arquia / next A Coruña Forum 2012: New Formats

25-26 october 2012-Museo de Bellas Artes de A Coruña

At the III arquia/next A Coruña Forum 2012 New Formats, which had 195 participants, an open debate was held and conclusions on new ways of being an architect, new challenges and the current paradigm were drawn thanks to the 1445 registered works of the 426 architects and 137 associations that took part in the 2010-2011 arquia/ next biennial

The topic New formats reflects who the fast technological and social changes of the last decades bring about complex challenges for the work of the architect and how architecture must adapt to this changes both in the academic and the professional fields, allowing for: new generations and new formats .

The jury with the curator Ariadna Cantís and the scientific committee made up of Francisco Cabrera, Ricardo Devesa, José María Ezquiaga, Eva Franch, José Morales, Carlos Quintáns, Rogelio Ruiz and Marta Thorne gave the 2012 arquia/next award together with €15,000 to the work Inteligencia Colectiva 2.0 by the group ZOOHAUS and three special mentions to Badajoz 2 Vpp from GÁLVEZ & ALGECIRAS, the Centro Cultural Mercado de Ferreries and the Escuela de Arte y Diseño de Amposta by David Sebastian Ucles and Gerard Puig Freixas.
