III Seminario Internacional de Arquitectura Moderna y Fotografía 2017

The III Seminario Internacional de Arquitectura Moderna y Fotografía 2017, held on 24 November 2017 at Disseny Hub Barcelona, addressed the profound change in paradigms that photography, like mapping, is undergoing due to the countless innovations of digital technology and which affects our commitment to both historical and current photographs. During the first part of the day, the interactive Atlas linking mapping, architecture and photography developed by the Form+ group was presented: a platform whose purpose is to bring together a careful selection of images, geolocated on a digital map, and thus provide evidence of the significant relations between architecture and its environment. The photographer's work is thus called upon to provide a point of view, a direction and a frame for the visual field in order to move the centre of the building towards the city and link it to the complex reality in which it is inserted. The second part of the conference focused on the work of the photographer Leopoldo Plasencia on the city of Barcelona, thanks to the intervention of the historian Isabel Segura Soriano. Finally, the photographers Xavier Basiana, David Salcedo and Josep Maria de Llobet held a colloquium in which they presented their different professional experiences in relation to the city today.
