European Identity - Fundació Mies van der Rohe

European Identity - Made in Europe is a set of documentaries developed by Fundació Mies van der Rohe Barcelona, on the occasion of the European Union Award for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award.

A total of 16 architectural studios from different European countries, which have participated in the Mies Award in different editions, as nominees, finalists, winners or emerging studios; are interviewed in these documentaries. All of them express their particular vision of Europe from their city, and reflect on what Europe is, what characterises us, what unites us and what differentiates us.

The documentaries highlight the diversity of cultures, languages, artistic and architectural expressions that are condensed into a reduced space as Europe is. The caring for public space, respect between cultures, the importance of the local culture, the connection with what exists and the layers of history that are settling in the cities are some of the topics contemplated by this cast of architects.
