IV Congreso Internacional de Arquitectura 2016: Arquitectura: Cambio de clima
PAMPLONA, PALACIO BALUARTE | 29-30 JUNE 2016
While the first conference ('More for Less') advocated an indispensable austerity, the second ('The Ordinary') proposed the no less necessary solidarity based on what we share, and the third ('Necessary Architecture') proposed to renounce the superfluous and demand the essential - 'What's necessary, and nothing less'-, this fourth conference wants to examine the current moment of architecture, taking into account both the transformation of its academic and professional base, which probably marks a change of paradigm in the way it is understood and exercised, such as the essential role that construction and the city play in climate change, since most of the energy we consume and the CO2 we give off by burning fossil fuels have their ultimate origin in the design of buildings and the way in which the territory is occupied: architecture needs a change of climate, and climate change needs to be tackled from architecture.
